La route du poisson se poursuit à Ségou, en pays bambara. On y découvre le dodo, poisson d'un jaune ravissant mais maudit car légèrement mortel si on ne lui enlève pas sa bile de façon adroite. Peut-être est-il cousin du fugu, le célèbre poisson japonais tueur.. Le dodo rendu inoffensif ressemble à de la lotte, il est absolument délicieux... mais il faut bien reconnaître qu'il n'a pas bonne presse, on en trouve peu sur les marchés et seuls les enfants en mangent. Sa peau très épaisse est utilisée pour les tamtams.
The Fish Road continues in Ségou, in the Bambara region. There we are introduced to the dodo, a pretty yellow fish that is cursed because it is a bit lethal when its bile is not skillfully removed. May be it is a fugu's cousin, the famous Japanese killer-fish.. However harmless dodo tastes like monkfish, really nice.. Still, it has not a good reputation and is difficult to find in the market. Only kids eat it. Its skin is very thick and is used for tomtoms.
